"She Gets Angry If Meds Make Her Tired" — Managing Trachea Without Sedation
Saturday, January 24, 2026
My puppy is only 6 yrs old and was diagnosed a couple years ago with Collapsing Trachea which is usually an old dog disease. She is a toy Pomeranian, 7 pounds. Has the honking , choking cough and is VERY picky with food and treats. I have been giving her the cough elixir, heat phlegm liquid and hemp oil at night and the cough again in morning and it seems to help. She gets angry if I give her anything that makes her feel tired , c** or any meds that calm the system. I know a lot of dogs are on hy*** but I can’t get her to swallow anything so can only do tinctures. So far so good. I’m going to try the honey cough elixir this time. Love this company! I hope you can beat Amazon and stay in business!! We love you!!

PawHealer's Response:
Corine, thank you for the love and for cheering us on against the big guys like Amazon! We are honored to be your choice.
Your 6-year-old Pom sounds like a firecracker! It is very common for dogs with tracheal collapse to be prescribed heavy sedatives, but we love that she refuses to be "zombied" out. If she gets "angry" when she feels tired, she clearly wants to keep living life on her own terms!
We are so glad that the liquid tinctures are the solution for her pill aversion and that the Phlegm Heat formula is helping manage the honking without knocking her out. We hope the Hound Paw Honey is a hit with her picky palate!
To our visitors: Trachea support doesn't always have to mean sedation. See the liquid formulas helping Corine's dog stay sharp and comfortable.
