Vet Meds Had No Effect on the Cough But This Syrup Did

Sunday, December 14, 2025

Oreo has a bad heart and as the heart gets bigger, it pushes the trachea up causing Oreo to cough. The vet gave meds but they had no effect on the cough. I decided to try Hound Paw Honey® Trachea Soother Syrup and it has worked wonderfully. I also decided to give the Heart Syrup a try and my boy is still with me and his quality of life is good.

PawHealer's Response:

Doris, thank you for sharing Oreo's story. It is a difficult situation when an enlarged heart pushes against the trachea, creating a mechanical irritation that standard meds often can't fix. It is frustrating to watch them cough when the medication isn't working.

We are so happy that our Hound Paw Honey®: Trachea Soother Syrup provided the relief the meds couldn't. Knowing that Oreo is still with you and enjoying a "good quality of life" is the best news we could ask for!

To our visitors: When an enlarged heart causes a cough, sometimes you need to soothe the throat directly. See what worked for Oreo when meds failed.
